Gillilan/Torrey Memorial Fund

Fund's purpose to enable any Sheldon High School student to participate in organized athletics who would otherwise be unable to due to financial reasons.
Fund established in 1982. Written contact with Sheldon High School and Gillilan and Torrey families. All donations from many friends of Sheldon kids. No governmental agency funds. Funds invested in Gillilan/Torrey Oregon Community Foundation endowment account. Principle account cannot be accessed. Grants provided by interest plus current donations.
In Memory of Tim Torrey who died in an auto accident in 1978, and John Gillilan, who died in a motorcycle accident in 1981. Both were Sheldon athletes.
Scholarships: 100% of funds donated go to student athlete scholarships covering the 4J sports participation fee required by each student for each sport
